Miscellany

OK, here are just a few things that are rolling around my mind.

We went on a run with our MINI Cooper crew today. Meet up in Wickenburg, AZ, drive to Prescott, AZ via the wonderful, twisty Yarnell Hill, stop at the Safeway for a health and coffee break and more yakking with the MINI peeps. Then on to Jerome, an old mining town, for lunch. Had fabulous Mexican food at a place called Quince Grill & Cantina. Fresh ingredients win out every time! Cherry Cheese pie for dessert for me and Whipped Pumpkin for The Sports Fan. YUM! Then we left the group and went back the way we came, breaking one of our cardinal rules because I-17 could hardly be more boring and who wants to be bored on a road trip? Besides, as I said before, Yarnell Hill is absolutely yummy! Lots of twisties and you can really have a great time if you don't get behind some moron on a Hardley-Davison, ahem, I mean Harley.

So when did it become okay not to pull over and let faster traffic go past? Why do squids who don't know how to ride all have Harleys and why are they going potato-potato-potato at 20 MPH in front of us when there are great twisties to be enjoyed at much faster speeds without said morons in the way? Why are the worst offenders always minivans? And why do they add insult to injury by taking pictures of the 'cute little car behind us'? And why won't the Sports Fan let me ruin the photo by giving them the finger? *sigh*

And when did it become okay to have your butt crack hanging out? I saw way too much of far too many strangers today. Two separate chicks on the back of motorcycles with fat and butt crack showing!  A chick on a bicycle - at least I think it was a chick! - wearing non-biking pants. Hint! They stretch better than elastic waist sports gear. Then there was the woman with the screaming child who was thankfully leaving the table next to our's at the restaurant. I had a hard time restraining myself from yelling, "Pull your pants up!"

Sheesh!

Good trip, despite all that. Now let's watch the Brewers embarrass themselves against the Cardinals!
