Wow. The end of an era has occurred. When I first got into Mixed Media Art, I joined a bunch of Yahoo art groups and through the years, I made a lot of friends in those groups, participated in lots of swaps, made tons of pages and artwork of every description. And generally had a lot of fun, learned tons, and even got to run a group or two.
One really huge project took two years and even spawned a small Yahoo group of its own.
But we all change and our interests change. People come and go from online groups just as they do in real life.
I've totally lost interest in doing art swaps and many copies of pages for chunky books. I think lots of others have too since I don't know of any chunky book groups that are still active.
I'd announced this before the holidays and the big day was supposed to be yesterday, but I was tired after quilting class and let it go. Today, I deleted the TreasureArtTrends group on Yahoo.
It marks the end of an era for me. And some new beginnings.
Now all the art I make is for me!

Hi Marilyn - sad as it is to see an era end ....good for you for recognizing it is time to move on to new things - your work is so beautiful and what I have found is that unless we are fulfilled with whatever we are doing there is no point to doing it - we first met online doing a chunky book that you were hosting - my first ever and I am happy to say we became friends in person - continued success and happiness thru your art - xo xo Reva
All good things come to an end, I would like to say THANK YOU for the inspiration being a part of your group gave me, how it got me started on my artistic journey, the swaps I was involved in will always be treasured by me xxxx
